A message from our founder

“It takes a village to raise a child.”
I often heard people say this when I lived abroad.
Having grown up and worked overseas, I was surprised to find when I returned how difficult it is to pursue both private and professional life in Japan. Why should one have to choose between family and work?

Being a working parent is a big deal, regardless of gender. It is hard to create and perform at your best when you are unable to work the amount you want. Furthermore, the present social infrastructure does not allow us to thrive at work. We are lacking services which support our private life, our day to day tasks, and that allow an integration of these elements into our professional lives. In modern day Japan, we need to reconsider the idea that we have to “do it all by ourselves,” and instead start relying on support systems outside of our own house and capabilities.

In recent years, a hot topic of debate has been the lack of diversity in age and gender within the Japanese workforce. The current work infrastructure pays little attention to the importance and benefits of integrating professional and private life. There is a strong tendency that we should not bring our private lives into the office. But why can't we incorporate both work and personal matters together and aim towards a work-life integration in the office? With that in mind, I decided to commit myself to bring harmony in employee’s lives so that they do not have to choose between one or the other. Through TPO’s Corporate Concierge service, we aim to invigorate employees and work towards a society that values individuals’ lives and happiness.
